The St. Albert Cultivates the Arts Society is a community-based volunteer society. The purpose of the society is to encourage the citizens of St. Albert (and the region) to discover, experience and celebrate the creative endeavours of local artists and performers during Alberta Culture Days, scheduled for the end of September annually.
The initiative for the formation of the St. Albert Cultivates the Arts Committee came through efforts by founding members and the Mayor to meet the Council priority to establish an Arts Day program in 2009. The committee has received the mandate to continue and to produce the Festival annually, set up a non-profit society in 2011 and to explore other artistic opportunities celebrating the rich cultural heritage of our community.
The St. Albert Arts Festival started in 2009. In 2010 the Festival was formally named StArts Fest.
In spring 2012, the Committee became a non-profit society.
